Santorini Day 1

This is the huge ferry we took to Santorini. It left at 7:30 a.m., so we took an early morning taxi.

The majority of the 8 hour ferry we spent on the deck, which was pretty nice except for the fact that the deck is the only place smoking is allowed and it seems that most people here smoke. I think we accidentally inhaled at least two packs. About two hours before we arrived in Santorini, we were able to move to an enclosed, smoke free deck. This ship was very nice and besides the smoking I don't think we would have felt any seasickness at all.
Islands we passed.

The grand mayhem of disembarkation.
We rented a car ($20 Euros a day! The rental guy said we got a good rate because Andrew said "hello" in Greek. I doubt it, but it is a great rate.)

The gate to the apartment we stayed in.

The view from bed.
Oia, which spellcheck keeps correcting to Kia.
The tourists all lined up to take pictures of the sunset in Oia. Probably the most well-documented sunset in the world.
Oh, the humanity. It was a mad scramble to find a spot to get a picture without anyone's camera or arm in the way. Notice the girl with the wedding bouquet and jean jacket in the foreground.
Worth the climb, for sure.
We ended our day with Gelato and fell into our white beds in our white hotel and slept like logs.
