Strasbourg, May 23

Today we went to Strasbourg Cathedral and walked around the city center a little bit.

After seeing the open air museum yesterday, seeing the light and airy architecture of the cathedral drove home to me the shock the people of the time must have felt on first entering a big church like this one, with its stained glass and soaring arches.

The ladies surrounding the doorways all seemed to be very different from each other.

I could have spent more time in Strasbourg! There were so many streets full of eccentric old buildings that begged for exploration.

But, we pressed on.
